On behalf of the staff, volunteers and Board members, I would like to welcome you to the Spanish American Merchants Association’s website. It is our hope that you will obtain the information you are looking for in these pages.
If you are a small business owner or have considered starting your own business, we invite you to learn more about the many services and benefits offered by SAMA and to consider partnering with us by becoming a member. SAMA’s membership has grown since 1982 to include more than 500 members who come from a variety of industries ~ each with a very diverse professional background. Members benefit from partnering with SAMA by seeking and obtaining training, counseling, technical assistance and loans to either start or expand their businesses.
Throughout the year, SAMA also holds several events which include fundraisers, networking events, informational seminars and health fairs among others that are offered exclusively to SAMA’ members.
Since 1982, the Spanish American Merchants Association (SAMA) has been Connecticut’s statewide small business association and leading business advocate, particularly for Hispanic business owners. The organization monitors and responds to the many issues that arise each year that directly impact small businesses of all industries.
Our financial supporters come from the many different relationships SAMA has built over the years with government officials, local foundations, area corporations and other community organizations. We are grateful to count on these partners as they are an integral part of SAMA’s operations making possible the success of our communities and the empowerment of those we serve. It is because of their financial support through sponsorship of our many programs and events that SAMA is able to provide services to help improve our communities.
As we approach SAMA’s 30th anniversary in 2012, all of us at SAMA anticipate many challenges and simultaneously, many successes. It is our hope that you are part of our successes by becoming part of our SAMA family!
